These are some of our projects and activities we have been involved with:

The Arts and Knowledge Workshop in Gulu City, organized in conjunction with The Queen's University of Belfast and the University of Leeds with funding from the British Academy through the British Institute in Eastern Africa (BIEA)-Elephante Commons,Gulu City ,12th-13th April 2024.
The project aimed at creating space for connections with creatives, artists and communities of different generations in Uganda specifically around film, painting, dance, drama ,music, photography and poetry among others.

Organized Field Orientation Course under Partnership for Education in Refugee-host Contexts: Joint Learning Towards Food Security and Sustainable Development (NORPART) Project for Exchange Students (NMBU) -28th October to 1st November 2024.
Activities included Field Orientation Course, Visit to Fort Baker in Patiok -Gulu District,Palabek Refugee Settlement in Lamwo District and teh National Memory and Documentation Centre of the Refugee Law Project in Kitgum District.

Learning from Covid-19: A Multi-disciplinary Research and Policy Forum-Collaboration with Gulu University and University of Cambridge-Gulu University New Library,30th -31st March 2023.
Presentations were made by members of staff from Faculties of Education and Humanities, Agriculture and Environment, Business and Development Studies, Medicine and from the Institute of Peace and Strategic Studies-all from Gulu University. A community panel was as well instituted.

Uganda's Neoliberalism at 40 Conference at the College of Business and Management Science,Makerere University-Kampala, 18th to 19th January 2024.
Made a presentation Panel 2 titled, “Neoliberalism and Massive Tree Cutting in Post Conflict Acholiland in Northern Uganda”.

Grounding Climate Change in East Africa: International Conference organized by Makerere University under Department of Environmental Management , in conjunction with Cambridge University-25th-26th July 2024.
The conference was focused around three themes: 1) Africanising Global Discourses of Resilience and Adaptation; 2) Deepening Climate Justice: East African Perspectives, Opportunities and Pathways; and 3) Grounding Climate Action: Addressing Constraints and Building Momentum.

Facilitated Stakeholder's Perception on Street Connected Children and Youth organized by Hashtag Uganda at Elephante Commons-6th March 2023.
A report from research on street connected children and youth was presented and discussed by stakeholders.

Attended Arts and Knowledge Workshop organized in conjunction with the Mitchell Institute at Queen's University Belfast on 7th Thursday 2024.
The project was collaboration between the Centre for African Research, Queen's University-Belfast, and University of Leeds with funding from the British Academy through the British Institute in Eastern Africa (BIEA). The gathering of arts practitioners in this workshop focused on sharing insights on themes ,needs and expenses at the intersection of the arts ,the University and society.

Coordinated Book Launch titled ,"Distant Justice:The Impact of the International Criminal Court on African Politics " Prof. Phil Clark-at Bomah Hotel,Gulu Municipality (Now City), 17th May 2019.
This event examined the impact of the ICC in northern Uganda since 2004, including on the Juba peace talks and the broader pursuit of justice and reconciliation. It also discussed the Dominic Ongwen and Thomas Kwoyelo trials and whether national and community-based responses to violence offer more effective remedies than international prosecutions.

Coordinated and Organized Ghent University Department of Conflict and Development Studies Student Visit on the Northern Uganda Study
The centre coordinated a training for students and researchers on ‘Gulu as a research setting’, Research Ethics, Cultural/Sensitive issues, Politics/protocol and practices in research.

Coordinated Exchange Visit of International Students from the University of Students from the University of Saskatchewan to Gulu City (July/August 2023).
International students toured Aswa Falls (Pader district) and the National Memory and Documentation Centre of the Refugee Law Project in Kitgum district.

Partnership for Education in Refugee-host Contexts: Joint Learning Towards Food Security and Sustainable Development (NORPART) Project Staff Exchange Visit to Norwegian University of Life Science (NMBU) -2nd April to 10th April 2024.
Project is funded by Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-Dir). Activities in the visit included joint teachings ,seminars and co-supervision of NORPART funded students.
